Vicky’s Lavranou “RAinpatterns”
Vicky Lavranou is an experienced
post-graduate architect from Athens Greece, with over of 20 years involvement
in architectural design and large scale projects.
Starting in 2008, Vicky decided to start "recycling"
her architectural drawings into patterns, mainly as an artistic defuse and effort
to connect architecture and painting.
Architectural artistic pattern collections started creating by Vicky’s
digital “process art” methods with obvious influences from her favorite architectural
and art movements (Deconstruction, Constructivism and Expressionism).
Her project “Recycling Architecture in
Patterns” (RAinpatterns) is based on an artistic software processing of her
architectural drawings which final creates
her patterns collection.
Vicky’s patterns creations are based on the
principles of “process art” (an artistic movement as well as a creative sentiment where the end product of
art and craft, the “objet d’art”, is not the principal focus / wikipedia). But even the initiation of this “process” is always one of her
architectural drawings, artistic influences from her favorite art movements as
Impressionism, Expressionism and Constructivism are rather obvious.
AIM: Vicky’s
Lavranou RAinpatterns project aspires to establish itself as an innovative patterns
process. The evolution of Vicky’s architectural patterns through visual art,
nature and the rhythms in the history of architecture, in unique visual
morphology issues, is a process that Vicky has being devoted more. Their
applications are unlimited in fashion and architectural industries and Vicky is
willing to explore and discover all these areas, by using her long experience
in design and manufacture.
